EDB asks What's The Move? with his debut mixtape.

"My life is a movie, and I'm livin' it like this." A lyric derived from Movie, the 4th track of his debut mixtape, What's the Move, clearly encapsulates how 25-year-old progressive rapper, EDB, lives life.

Known as Edrick Luy in real life, EDB wasn't fond of that monicker of his back in the day but eventually learned how to roll with it as with everything else with life, accepting things will happen, and trying to adapt and see the positive out of a negative, in his words. As a person who sees life like a movie and a work of art, EDB doesn't waste any opportunity to make the most of it and capture his progress and life as it is, and he does that through producing and creating music.

Inspired by the likes of Mac Miller and Asian Movements: 88Rising, and Careless Manila, EDB's first mixtape, What's the Move? contains four tracks that have soulful and soothing grooves, which complement his powerful and deep-voiced rap bars as he goes through the motions of his life. Its opener, These Skies, is EDB's acknowledgment of his past self, and mentality, and the desire to live life as a work in progress, while his 3rd track, Like the Usual, focuses on EDB's journey of getting back on track to his beat and rhythm after getting lost along the way.

Though this mixtape depicts what goes on in his head, his journey, hopes for the future, and changes in between, EDB's bars can also serve as a message to his listeners to not hold back and live life the way they want. Take EDB's 2nd track, Us Cruising, which serves as that encourages to keep cruising through life despite its roadblocks and rough turns, and his 4th track, Movie, which reminds the listener that your life is a movie that you direct, and that shouldn't be dependent how others live theirs.

More than self-exploration and some perspective, What's The Move is EDB's way of anticipating what's to come along with that hope and curiosity every time he asks himself that question.
