SHNTI with the allergy to bad energies

Coming down from the Metro, an emerging artist bombards us with her remastered track “Goodie Goodie”, Ashanti Bulanadi, otherwise known as SHNTI, signed to LIAB Studios. Our very own “real-life anime character sweetheart cute but badass” is influenced by soulful R&B and 90’s Hip-hop.

In this euphoric track, SNHTI reflects on life and the dangers of materialism. For many of us, music is our comfort zone when we want to isolate ourselves from the world. It wraps us in it’s wide, comforting arms and blocks out the negativity we encounter in our hectic day-to-day lives. Her lyrics remind us that the consequences of our actions are not always as predictable as they seem to be. Things don’t work out as planned? It’s fine to feel a type of way about it. It’s okay to let it go, whatever it may be, for the sake of happiness. There will always be a light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how dark of a place you find yourself in. Find that Goodie Goodie energy!

A lot of things are happening right now for SHNTI, for the past two years she has shared her knack for thoughtful lyricism and astonishing showmanship, performing live at various events and creating a name for herself as an inspirational up-and-coming emcee in a local music scene primarily dominated by men. We can expect a lot more from SHNTI and her record label, LIAB Studios who thus far, have proved to us that the current pandemic has failed to be hinderance in sharing their creative vision.

Reflecting upon this single, SHNTI teaches us that it is important to inspire blissful living and encourage growth toward becoming the very best version of ourselves. One key aspect we learn from “Goodie Goodie” is that life is a maze of negativity and that nothing is more fulfilling than finding our way through while using positivity as our guide to peace and happiness. We must remember to check-in on ourselves before considering the interests of others. Like the great rapper, Ice Cube once said: “You better check yo’ self before you wreck yo self!”

With such words being said, lets all remember that there are plenty of local underground talents that work hard to represent Filipino artistry through their own stories. For many of us, these songs impart upon us a sense of comfort in their ability to empathize with our daily experiences and cultural values.

Looking for a better way to check yo’ self? Stream SHNTI’s single “Goodie Goodie” available now on platforms such as Spotify, and let us know how you feel about our latest up-and-coming storyteller!
